Tarrago Self Shine Colour Dyes
Dyeing Information
-
Suitable Fabrics:
leather, canvas and synthetic leather.
-
Not Suitable For:
suede, nubuck and similar materials.
- The Dye Changes colour, even black to white. Repairs scuffs, scratches and restores colour.
- Dries to a shine, an after finish is not required.
Preparation Instructions:
Note:
The cleaning and the removal of the finishing are required before application.
For Leather footwear and goods:
For a proper preparation apply
Tarrogo Preparer or Conditioner
with a used green scouring pad in order to remove dirt, shoe creams and protectors on the leather which would prevent a correct application of the dye.
For Synthetic leather footwear and goods:
Do not
use the green scouring pad. Rub only with a cloth soaked in TARRAGO PREPARER or in alcohol, and dye immediately after this.
For Canvas footwear:
To prepare this footwear, wash shoes. Apply one or two coats of dye on the damp canvas following the procedure for leather footwear.
Dyeing Instructions:
1.
Stir the bottom of the bottle of dye with the paintbrush until colour is even.
2.
With the half-loaded paintbrush paint the joint between the sole and the leather, on the seams, scratches, ornaments, etc.
3.
Apply one or two brushstrokes of dye on one end of the sponge.
4.
Rub gently in a circular motion on all the surfaces to be dyed, applying another brushstroke if necessary. Without adding more dye some touches can be applied with the sponge on the dyed surface to even up the colour.
5.
Once the first coat is dry apply a second coat by repeating the operation in order to even up the colour. Apply a third coat if necessary.
6.
Once the procedure is finished, wash the sponge and paintbrush with water in order to prevent them from drying out.
Important:
It will be observed that having applied 2 or 3 coats, the quantity of dye used has been very small and therefore the result is a dyeing and not painted. The leather gets smooth and flexible and the dye will not peel off. After 5 hours the dye will be completely dry and resistant to a dry or wet rub.
